Report: Chelsea prepared to offer €50 million-rated star in deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder
As previously mentioned this week, Aurelien Tchouameni, a midfielder for Real Madrid, is a target for Chelsea come summer-time.
The 24-year-old French international has been targeted by the Blues as part of their summer makeover plans in an attempt to strengthen their midfield unit.
However, because of the club’s precarious Financial Fair Play condition, Chelsea will not be able to spend a lot of money on new players.
In an attempt to persuade Real Madrid to accept their offer, the London team is now thinking of making a player offer.
Chelsea want to offer Reece James in deal for Tchouameni
Indeed, as per Fichajes, Chelsea are prepared to offer their club captain Reece James as part of the deal to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid.
The England right-back has been on Real Madrid’s radar for quite some time now, although doubts have started to creep in about a move due to his injury issues.
Yet, Chelsea are resolute in their pursuit of Tchouameni and are hoping that offering James could help them convince Los Blancos to enter into negotiations.
Real Madrid see Tchouameni as a fundamental piece
However, at the moment, Real Madrid are not entertaining any thoughts of parting ways with Tchouameni.
The Merengues signed him only a couple of years ago from AS Monaco and have seen him grow into a top player in the side.
Be it in midfield or as an emergency centre-back, Tchouameni has delivered big time for Real Madrid and he is viewed as a fundamental part of the team moving forward.
Furthermore, with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez still going well, Real Madrid do not wish to sign a right-back this summer either.
As such, any offer from Chelsea, even one including James as part of the deal, will be knocked back right away.
