According to Daily Mirror, Chelsea are ready to table a bid for Manchester City defender John Stones.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has made it a priority to reinforce his back line this summer and the Blues are reportedly hopeful of securing Stones’ signature in a cut price deal following the signing of Nathan Ake.
Chelsea will reportedly approach City with an opening offer of £20m for the out-of-favour Stones which is less than half what City paid for the 26-year-old in 2016. Manchester City signed Stones from Everton for £47 million.
Lampard is reportedly confident he can resurrect the career of Stones, with the defender no longer a regular player at Manchester City.
