Despite paying £71million to sign him from Atletico Bilbao, Kepa has struggled for consistency at Chelsea and Maignan has been identified as a replacement for Kepa.
Maignan was an ever-present for Lille last season and would cost around £27m, according to Sky Sports .
He has played for France at every international level from U16 to U21 and has also been called into the senior squad.
