REPORT: Dortmund director finally sends Haaland’s transfer message to Chelsea
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland for a long time now, and the Blues are surprisingly favourites for his signature.
With Real Madrid and Barcelona not financially capable of pulling such a deal at the moment, Chelsea do not really have competition in the race for the buzzing 20-year-old.
Meanwhile, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has now claimed that he’s not keen on selling his talisman this summer.
He said of the striker’s future (via Bild): “Nothing has changed. We are still planning with Erling for the new season.”
Also, top reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed that after selling Jadon Sancho, Dortmund are in a comfortable position financially and are not under pressure to sell Haaland this summer.
Dortmund will now be aiming to make as much as possible from Haaland, having sold Sancho for £73m. The German side know that Chelsea are in dire need of a striker and they aren’t too willing to sell for a favourable price.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is believed to be interested in seeing this deal come true, and he surely won’t be happy with this development.
Expect this deal to go down the wire if Chelsea are to make a breakthrough in negotiations.
