Barcelona are reportedly at risk of losing Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with Chelsea interested in signing the German international who is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Ter Stegen earns around £140,000 at Barcelona while Luis Suarez and youngster Frenkie de Jong are believed to earn double this.
The German international goalkeeper reportedly wants to earn close to the wages of Suarez but Barcelona’s offer is way off his demands despite his importance to the team.
Following a stalemate in negotiations between Ter Stegen and Barcelona, the Spanish club have now paused contract negotiations with the German international until they know the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, according to Sport.
If Ter Stegen does not renew this year, Barca are obliged to sell him in 2021 before he can leave for free in 2022.
