Roberto De Zerbi believes his players are ‘Stupid’ to allow Chelsea to do this in 3-2 win over Brighton ‘I can’t accept this from the boys’

Brighton coach Roberto De Zebri has labels the 3goals Chelsea scored against his team has “stupid” goals said his side deserved more.

Goals from Facundo Buonanotte and Joao Pedro were not enough to help the Seagulls end their gruelling week with a point.

Players from the two teams clashed at full-time, moments after Albion saw a penalty against Levi Colwill reversed via VAR.

Chelsea played for almost half the game without the sent-off Conor Gallagher and won via a contentious VAR spot kick awarded against James Milner.

Asked whether Albion felt hard done by, De Zerbi said: “About the result, yes, because we played a great game.

“We conceded three stupid goals – the first incredible. We can be very young but we could defend better and play with more attention in that situation.

“Please I don’t want to speak about referees. About football, what you want.

“I have to accept every decision. Referees are people like coaches and they can make mistakes.

“I don’t know if it was a mistake or not, if the penalty on Mudryk is clear or not.”
