Ronaldo transfer message sent to Chelsea, Tuchel to sign £70m German star, as Blues in contact over Italian deal
Juventus vice-chairman Pavel Nedved has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be leaving the club in the summer transfer window, with reports Chelsea are linked with a transfer move.
Regarded as one of the finest players to ever grace the game, Ronaldo is a man that is classed as global superstar in the game and has pretty much won everything in the game that a player can win at club level.
However, despite the fact that he is the clubs main man, there has been some speculation in the media that a move back to the Premier League may be on the agenda, with reports the Italians may have to sell the Portuguese superstar.
But Nedved has opened up and revealed that the Italians have no desire to let Ronaldo leave in the coming transfer window: “For me, Ronaldo can’t be touched,” Nedved said in an interview with DAZN. “He has a contract until June 30, 2022 and will stay. What happens after that remains to be seen.
“Cristiano, both technically and in terms of image, pushed us towards the peak of football. On a technical level, you can’t fault him. He’s scored more than 100 goals in 120 games and he dragged us into the Champions League.
“We can criticise him – we all have to be open to criticism when we make a mistake – but to question his numbers and what he gives us in every game, for me, isn’t fair.
“He’s a simple guy, even if it doesn’t seem like that from the outside.
“Kids will study his physique and his career. He’s the prototype of the modern player who, with immense talent and a lot of work, has achieved incredible goals.”
There has been some reports in the media which have suggested that Chelsea are looking at a deal for Leon Goretzka in a bid to get the very best of out Kai Havertz.
The club beat off a whole load of clubs in the last transfer window in order to get Kai Havertz all signed up, with many believing that he had the potential to go on and be the next Eden Hazard at the Bridge.
However, he’s failed to live up to those expectations in his debut season in the Premier League, as ex-boss Frank Lampard struggled to work out Havertz’s best position while Thomas Tuchel has been unable to use the midfielder on a regular basis due to an injury.
Now there are reports that we are looking to try and snap up a possible deal for Goretzka.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed another strong season with Bayern Munich with his ability to be effective at both ends of the pitch, but Goretzka’s contract situation is yet to be resolved with the Bundesliga giants and his current deal expires in 2022.
That could make him available at a cut-price this summer with Bayern expected to undergo big changes with a number of players on expiring contracts.
And Goretzka’s close relationship with Havertz in the German national team could well be the answer for the club in unlocking the 21-year-old’s full potential.
Look, Havertz just needs time to get used to the Premier League, it is not easy for a young player to come to the English game and perform.
Goretzka is a very good player, but how many midfielders do we need? They already have an array of players that most bosses would love, so signing this man to get the best out of Havertz would not make sense.
Fresh reports have claimed that Chelsea are closing in on a summer transfer deal to bring Gianluigi Donnarumma to the Premier League on a free contract from AC Milan
Despite the addition of Edouard Mendy in the summer to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as Chelsea’s first-choice in between the sticks, the Blues are said to be interested in signing Donnarumma.
The young Italian stopper is regarded as one of the best in the game right now, and there has been alot of rumours about his next move, especially as he simply cannot agree a contract with the Italian giants, meaning he could leave on a free at the end of the season.
WHAT IS THE LATEST?
According to journalist Duncan Castles, both Chelsea and Manchester United have already made contact about a potential move.
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Castles said: “Our information is that both Chelsea and Manchester United have been in talks with Raiola about Donnarumma.
“It looks like Donnarumma has an opportunity to move to England, should he choose to.
“Accompanied by the commission that Raiola seeks and would want for free transfer of such a valuable asset.
“There is an opportunity for either club and others to secure Donnarumma on a longer-term contract without their being a fee.”
