Sarri Reveals Why He Desperately Wants Pedro Back In The Team

Chelsea star Pedro missed Chelsea’s goalless draw at West Ham on Sunday after picking up an injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 Europa League win at PAOK on Thursday.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri would have wished he had Pedro on the bench to call on against a very stubborn West Ham side at the London Stadium.

Sarri revealed after the goalless draw against West Ham that Pedro is an important player to have in the squad because he is the best Chelsea player with movement without the ball.

“Pedro, for us, is very important because he is the best player we have with movement without the ball,” Sarri said after the goalless draw at West Ham.

“So, in this moment of the season, Pedro is a very important player.”

Sarri also hinted Pedro could miss the Carabao Cup game against Liverpool in midweek.

When asked if Pedro will be back for the game against Liverpool, Sarri said: “We are trying to have him at the end of the week, but I don’t know at the moment.”

Pedro has been in good form for Chelsea this season under Sarri, scoring three goals. The Spaniard’s workrate and eye for goal is important for Sarri’s style of play which requires pressing high up the pitch.
