“Sell him he’s not Chelsea standard” – Craig Burley tells Chelsea board 22-year-old player is good enough to play for Chelsea

Craig Burley has implied that Armando Broja should be playing at a smaller club, and not one of the same status as Chelsea.

Broja has struggled to get some joy in Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea team since he returned from an ACL injury earlier this season.

The 22-year-old has made 17 appearances across all competitions for the Blues, scoring just twice in that time.

According to Burley the Albania international is not a bad striker, but maybe he needs to go to a different club where the pressure of delivering week-in and week-out isn’t as much high as it is at Chelsea.

The pundit told ESPN FC while speaking of Broja: “I liked him when he was at Southampton, Broja. I think that’s kind of [the level]. Not Southampton because they’re in the Championship, but they might come back up.

“But somewhere else, bottom half of the Premier League I could see him going in, an Everton or someone like that, and maybe do a job.”

Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea are actually open to the idea of selling Broja this January, with Wolverhampton believed to be interested in the striker, but it isn’t certain how much the Blues would demand before they let him go.
