The pressure on the Blues boss has grown throughout his first season in charge of the team. The fan base’s discontent has persisted as a result of several underwhelming performances and outcomes.

After losing the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool last month, Chelsea still have a chance to win the FA Cup after sealing a return to Wembley Stadium for the semi-final.

Pochettino still has another year left on his current deal in west London, though there remains doubt that he will be in the dug-out for the start of next season. The club’s qualification for European football is expected to play a big part in the ownership’s decision-making.

Many names have been linked to replace the Argentine, should he leave. Jose Mourinho and Roberto De Zerbi have all been mentioned as possible replacements.

But according to Canale 8 [via Sport Witness], Conte could make a surprise return to the Premier League with a second stint at Cobham. In his first spell at Stamford Bridge, the Italian won the Premier League and FA Cup in two seasons.

After enjoying another successful period in Italy with Inter Milan, Conte returned to England with Tottenham and was dismissed in March last year.

Journalist Massimo Ugolini has now claimed that the 54-year-old’s return would be welcomed back with ‘great enthusiasm’ at Chelsea. “He could even return to Chelsea,” he told Canale 8.

“He would be welcomed back with great enthusiasm. Watch out for Juventus too. In this spending-review phase, it’s not as if they couldn’t afford him.”
