Shocking! Chelsea player officially retires from national team after latest development
According to latest reports, Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech has said he won’t be playing for his country anymore, However, this is following a war of words that has gone on since last year with Morocco national team boss Vahid Halilhodzic.
Ziyech has called time with his country, after a row with Halilhodzic that has gone on for almost a year now.
Ziyech, who has made 40 caps for Morocco, has not featured for the national side since June, and wasn’t called up for the African Cup of Nations.
Halilhodzic had accused Ziyech of faking an injury to avoid playing in a friendly and criticised the Chelsea star’s behaviour, while Ziyech on his part accused Halilhodzic of lying.
Now, Ziyech has revealed that he won’t be playing for his country anymore, and revealed the bold decision in Abu Dhabi.
Ziyech told Abu Dhabi Sports on Tuesday ahead of Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign: “Obviously I understand them but I will not return to the national team,”
Asked if it’s his final decision, Ziyech replied: “Yes, it’s my final decision.
“It’s all clear for me how things are going over there.
“It’s all clear for me and I’m focusing on what I’m doing and right now that’s my club.”
