Sorry Liverpool! Honigstein announces £70m man ‘is heading to Chelsea’

Journalist Raphael Honigstein has claimed Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic is now set for Chelsea.

The Dortmund midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Arsenal both looking to rival Chelsea for his services.

He is one of the most talented players in the Bundesliga, but Dortmund have decided to cash in during the next couple of transfer windows after the emergence of England International Jadon Sancho.

And although reports over the weekend suggested hat he was all set to sign for Liverpool, ESPN and Der Spiegel journalist Honigstein has claimed that Pulisic is all set to sign for Chelsea.

He told the Sunday Supplement: “My understanding is that Chelsea are the only team that have made a firm offer at the moment.

“Dortmund are looking to see if there are other offers coming in as you would, but it is kind of agreed that the player will move in the summer definitely because he still has a year to run on his contract.

“Unless someone matches Chelsea’s offer or exceeds it, he’ll go there.”

Will Pulisic be a good signing for Chelsea?

If the reports are true and Pulisic is set to sign for Chelsea, then any price they pay for the highly-talented American will be a good investment as he is tipped to become one of the best wingers in world football.

Chelsea know they could lose Eden Hazard at the end of the season, and could see Pulisic as the ideal man to come in, and eventually be the Belgians long-term replacement, especially if they fail to secure possible deals for the likes of Kylian Mbappe or Neymar.

If Pulisic is heading to Chelsea in the coming transfer windows, it is a great bit of business by the club.
