“Special player, can’t believe you haven’t play more games for Chelsea” – Tuchel tells player
Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek, spent last season on loan at Fulham, looked certain to be heading towards the Chelsea exit this summer but has managed to turn things around.
According to reports, the 25 year old midfielder was offered to West Ham on deadline day in August to make space for incoming Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
It looked like he had no future as a Chelsea player after he was left out of the first five matches of the season.
25-year-old was handed a chance to impress against Zenit back in August, however, and has featured prominently in four of Chelsea’s subsequent five matches despite the competition in midfield in the Chelsea squad.
According to The Athletic via Metro, following Loftus-Cheek’s performances for the Blues, Tuchel has been surprised previous Chelsea managers haven’t used the 25 year old more often.
He reportedly told Loftus-Cheek: “You are special. I cannot believe you haven’t played more for Chelsea.”
