Tammy Abraham sets a new massive world record, as Reece James reacted
Tammy Abraham, a former Chelsea striker, has been setting the pace in Serie A, and the 24-year-old has established yet another big record.
However, Abraham scored two goals in Roma’s 3-0 win over Torino on Saturday, breaking the record for most goals scored by an English player in a single Serie A season.
Following his summer departure from Chelsea, the 24-year-old has made significant progress under Jose Mourinho’s guidance.
With his brace, Abraham has now surpassed Gerry Hitchens’ 16 goals for Inter Milan in 1961/62 for the most goals in Serie A.
Roma finished the season in sixth position in Serie A, but they will play Feyenoord in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday for the chance to earn a trophy.
Tammy Abraham’s recent achievement has been praised by Chelsea defender Reece James.
Reece James tweeted: “History made. Most goals by an Englishman in a single Serie A season @tammyabraham”
