The seven Chelsea players Todd Boehly could sell this summer after meeting in Saudi Arabia

Reports state that Chelsea will attempt to turn a significant profit during the summer transfer window, with seven names being floated as potential departures.

Chelsea has been actively acquiring players ever since American businessman Todd Boehy and his group arrived in 2022.

Since Cole Palmer joined the Premier League team in a £40 million trade from Manchester City last summer, the club has really spent £1 billion in total.

In addition to Palmer, Moises Caicedo was recruited for a British record £115 million, and other high-profile signings included Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Axel Disasi, and Nicolas Jackson.

Now, it appears the Blues will try and recoup some of those funds when the transfer window opens again this summer.

A report from the Telegraph suggests Chelsea will try and ‘permanently offload’ striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Serie A side Roma and has a £37 million release clause.

Lukaku reportedly turned down a huge offer to join the Saudi Pro League last year but his recent comments suggest he could be open to a transfer this time around.

“In the next two years I see this league becoming one of the best in the world, if not the best,” he said.

“The clubs make a lot of efforts to bring the ‘big’ players here. As a result, the teams and the footballing qualities are improving significantly.”

Chelsea also want to cash in on Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. He is currently on loan at Real Madrid, who are not keen on making his deal permanent.

Hakim Ziyech is another player who is expected to leave this summer. The 30-year-old winger was on the verge of signing for Saudi side Al Nassr but a deal fell through.

He is currently on loan at Galatasaray and has an option to buy clause in his deal at the Turkish club.

As well as the previously mentioned, Chelsea are likely to try to cash in on Marc Cucurella, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah, according to the report.

Conor Gallagher’s future is also in doubt, with the England international being linked with a move to Tottenham.

It must be noted that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was recently in the Saudi capital Riyadh to speak to the country’s sports minister Michael Emenalo, who is also the Saudi Pro League’s director of football.

The purpose of the visit and meeting has yet to be revealed but there is a belief that the club are trying to raise money by selling players to Saudi Arabia.

That being said, the homegrown trio of Broja, Chabolah and Gallagher are not expected to be offered to Saudi clubs.
