8 players could leave Chelsea after club lost £121million

According to Evening Standard, The blues is set to sell up to eight players in the summer after reporting a loss of £121million for last season.

The Blues will embark on a clear-out at the end of the season in order to raise funds to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

The Blues will look to reduce the squad from 33 players to a more typical 25-man group.

Players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic will be likely made available for transfer this summer, according to the report.

There is a growing feeling that Mateo Kovacic is another player who could depart with Chelsea yet to open talks over an extension to his current contract, which has just 16 months left to run.

There has also been no progress over Mason Mount’s contract renewal since talks broke down shortly after the World Cup, with his current deal up in 2024. Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are all interested in the 24 year old midfielder.

Similarly, goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has had no talks with Chelsea after discussions collapsed in September. He is now unlikely to discuss a new deal until the end of the season, possibly paving the way for his exit.
