These players are responsible for Chelsea’s positive results

Chelsea have been in fine form with some successive wins across all competitions. More to it is the balance in the team – from the defence to the attack.

It is a perfect record for Chelsea in the Champions League after winning French Ligue 1 outfit to make it the third while they sit with four points behind league leaders, Liverpool in the Premier League.

However, there are players that have stood for the team. Their performances and form can largely be traced to the reason why the West London outfit have been winning and this is peculiar to other teams as well.

Nevertheless, it is also very difficult to find such players, especially getting them in your team to be at their best.

The West London club spent over £200 million in the transfer market to equip their squad and that has been helpful but a few carry the major burden and responsibility of either defending or scoring.

At the moment, France International midfielder, N’Golo Kante is the first player that cannot be dropped by the former Blues midfielder because of his world-class performance as a defensive midfielder. No wonder Frank Lampard reportedly held talks with him to assure him of a future in Stamford Bridge after he was linked away from the club in the last summer transfer window.

Another France International, Kurt Zouma has been solid for Frank Lampard’s team this season. He was identified by former manager Jose Mourinho until his progress was stalled as a result of injury. Chelsea can boast of an experienced Thiago Silva but the youthful defender and his young age, makes him more available.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has also established himself as a player the Blues cannot do without following the blunders committed by Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. This is the reason why Mendy was asked to join Chelsea and he has been hailed by Frank Lampard for helping to stabilize the team.

Another new signing in the attack, Timo Werner has quickly settled well in the team with his consistent delivery. Opponents cannot have a breathing space with his presence on the pitch. He has made Chelsea deadly in the front.
