‘They are not back’ – Tuchel ruled out four Chelsea players are out of West Ham clash
After a 4-2 defeat in the London derby against Arsenal in midweek, The Blues will be looking forward to pick up a win in their next derby game at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea will host West Ham on Sunday for another London derby, and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will be without four players for this game.
Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi are long-term absentees, and key duo Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic have joined them in the treatment room.
Tuchel has said Rudiger and Kovacic won’t be available for the Hammers game.
Tuchel said: “Both of them are not back for Sunday’s match, but also no other [new] injuries.”
Thomas Tuchel had said of Rudiger’s injury: “It is groin pain and a little, minor injury. It is a matter of days.
“Right now, it’s not good. I don’t think he will play against West Ham.”
On Kovacic, Tuchel had revealed that he got a swollen ankle in the game against Crystal Palace.
Tuchel continues: “When Kova comes off, you know that he is in pain.”
“The ankle is swollen, it’s a huge ankle right now. Let’s hope but it does not look so good. Let’s wait for the examination.”
