Thiago Silva revealed some ‘HUGE’ secrets about Thomas Tuchel
Chelsea have already parted ways with manager Frank Lampard after just 18 months in charge over unsatisfactory results and about starting afresh with former Paris Saint Germain manager Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has worked under Thomas Tuchel during his spell in France and has warned of possible friction with the manager for the Stamford Bridge job
Thomas Tuchel was also sacked by the French club after a poor start to the current campaign but he had won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles and reached the Champions League final last season.
Thiago Silva has a lot to talk about “It’s difficult but it was predictable that this was going to happen,” he told French broadcaster RMC Sport.
“Not now, but being inside, we knew there were situations that had to be changed. In my opinion, Leonardo took the situation in hand, he made his choice. We do not know if it was good, it was not at all for Tuchel and his staff, especially after the match (4-0 defeat of Strasbourg).”
Meanwhile, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich announced Frank Lampard’s sack after a run of five defeats from their last eight league games despite massive spending in the last summer window.
“This was a very difficult decision for the Club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him.” he said in an official club statement.
“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances, we believe it is best to change managers.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, the Board and personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as Head Coach and wish him every success in the future.
“He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. He will always be warmly welcomed back at Stamford Bridge.”
In his reaction, Frank Lampard said “Firstly, I would like to thank the fans for the incredible support that I have received over the last 18 months. I hope they know what that means to me. “When I took on this role I understood the challenges that lay ahead in a difficult time for the football club.
‘I am proud of the achievements that we made, and I am proud of the academy players that have made their step into the first team and performed so well. They are the future of the club.
“I am disappointed not to have had the time this season to take the club forward and bring it to the next level.
