Thibaut Courtois Returns To Chelsea Training With Bad News For Maurizio Sarri

Thibaut Courtois has told Maurizio Sarri that he wants to leave Chelsea before the end of the transfer window, according to ESPN.

After Courtois’ agent previously revealed his client’s desire to leave the club this summer, Sarri called upon the Belgian to tell him in person upon his return to the training ground on Monday morning.

Courtois is now back at Cobham, and it looks as though he’s delivered some bad news to his manager. ESPN claim that Courtois has made it clear he wants out. He wants to sign for Real Madrid this summer.

That may well be the case, but the situation hasn’t changed from Chelsea’s perspective. Unless a suitable replacement can be found in the coming days, Courtois will not be allowed to leave.

Though the club will be reluctant to keep a disgruntled player against his will, they consider their own interests the priority. Sarri needs to have a goalkeeper of the desired quality. If we can’t find one soon, Courtois will remain.
