“This boy is top, I mean top level”- Brendan Rodgers praise one Chelsea player after suffering defeat at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to go third in the league and maintain our hopes of a Champions League place.
It was a different Chelsea that faced Leicester City this time around, as Thomas Tuchel’s men dominated large spells of the game.
Speaking after the game, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for the quality of the Chelsea team but reserved special praise for midfielder Mason Mount.
“We’re coming up against a team who are in the Champions League final,” said Rodgers.
“They’ve shown consistently that they’ve got top-class players. I want to mention Mason Mount because this is a young guy I’d heard early on in the season there was maybe doubts around him, whether he should be playing or not for Chelsea.
“This boy is top, top level. They can be very proud of him here at Chelsea, the academy, he’s an incredible footballer and he’s going to be that.”
