Having returned to the Champions League following a one-year absence, Chelsea were knocked out in the last-16 of the competition by Barcelona.
Chelsea’s run to the round of 16 of the Champions League this season earned the Blues £55.5million, according to a report on Football London.
Chelsea earned €12.7million for appearing in the group stage of Europe’s elite competition. Our three wins, two draws and one loss in the group stage also earned Chelsea €5.9million and appearing in the knockout round was worth a further €6milion.
The TV pool earned the Blues €39.7m, bringing up a total of €64.3million (£55.5million).
Only Liverpool (£66.1million) earned more than Chelsea from this season’s Champions League. Manchester City earned £53.8million, Spurs earned £51.9million and Manchester United earned £33.6million.
