Timo Werner touching message to Chelsea fans ahead of UCL, as Blues set up efforts to complete double deal for two world-class attackers

As we all know the coronavirus pandemic halted football and football hasn’t been the same since then as fans were not allowed inside stadiums for the entire season.

In our penultimate game of the season against Leicester City, Stamford Bridge finally saw 10,000 fans return. And Timo Werner says that their presence was very helpful for him personally.

“I heard the fans singing a song for me and that gives me a lot of power and I think that’s what you miss in the times where you have difficult periods where you don’t score,” Werner told The Telegraph.

“That helped me a lot and it really gave me a push in the game. I thought it was much easier to run, to go into duels, to keep the ball, to try to score. Of course, it gave me that little bit of power that maybe I had lost in the last few months.”

Werner was thrilled after the Leicester win as he applauded the fans for chanting his name despite going through a rough spell in front of goal.

Fans will be in attendance for our game tomorrow against Manchester City in Porto – hopefully, they can create an even better atmosphere as we look to win the Champions League!

Blues set up efforts to complete double deal for two world-class attackers

According to the Sunday World, Chelsea are set to ramp up their efforts to sign Romelu Lukaku AND Jadon Sancho,

The Blues were one of the biggest spenders in world football last summer, bringing in the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and more.

While this season hasn’t panned out exactly as Chelsea fans will have envisaged, they do have a Champions League final to compete in.

Win or lose, the ambition will be to come again, and stronger, next time around. In order to achieve that, further reinforcements will be required.

According to the Sunday World, Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho are top targets for the London club.

“I remember saying, ‘We can’t lose this guy. This guy is going to be top’. Unfortunately, when Jose Mourinho came in as manager, their personalities became an issue. They clashed. It wasn’t going to work” – which major Mourinho transfer blunder is this? Click here to find out.

The Sunday World report that Chelsea are set to ramp up their efforts to sign Lukaku from Inter Milan following Antonio Conte’s departure.

The report claims that Inter are hoping to raise £80M through player sales this summer, with a deal for Lukaku potentially solving problems for both clubs.

As per the Sunday World, Chelsea will also compete with Manchester United for the signature of Jadon Sancho, who would be another top-class addition to their frontline.

Even if neither were to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer, Chelsea fans will be delighted to see their club being linked with players of this calibre.

Signing world-class players is the only way for them to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City in the Premier League.
