Todd Boehly wants £85million as Manchester United set to bid £55million for Chelsea star

Manchester United are set to launch a £55million bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount in an effort to beat competition from the likes of Arsenal and Liveprool, according to a report on Metro.

Mount has 12 months left on his Chelsea contract and Chelsea are open to selling the England international this summer if he doesn’t extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Interest in the midfielder has not been in short supply, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester City all tracking the playmaker.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants to add greater strength in depth to his midfield and Mount’s ability to play in numerous positions has attracted the Dutchman to the England international.

Chelsea reportedly value Mount at £85m and will reject any bids significantly lower than that figure.
