The Premier League has seen some big names, great teams and awesome legends since the league’s inception in 1992.
One of Premier League’s greatest ever striker, Alan Shearer, has revealed on a special edition of Match of the Day, an array of heavyweights captains, from nearly three decades of top-flight action, and he chose the greatest of them all.

Terry captained Chelsea to five Premier League titles, and Shearer believes that the Chelsea legend was the best of the lot.
“He was everything you wanted in a captain. He had the respect of managers, fans and players,” Shearer said. “He wasn’t liked by other fans, but it didn’t affect him – it probably spurred him on if anything, and he delivered.”
