Tuchel confirms Chelsea player is out and needs a surgery
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed after Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield United that Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will not be joining up with Senegal for the international break over the next fortnight.
According to Tuchel, Mendy will remain in London because he needs an operation on a tooth.
Mendy, who has kept nine clean sheets since Thomas Tuchel took charge, was rested for the FA Cup victory over Sheffield United as Kepa Arrizabalaga took over and kept another clean sheet for the Blues.
Tuchel said: “Edou Mendy will stay because he has an operation on his tooth. He needs to see the dentist because it needs to be done. It’s why we do it now.”
