Tuchel issues clear message about possible Chelsea signing of £484k-a-week star
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo, a star for Manchester United, may be available to Chelsea this summer.
Ronaldo hasn’t actually said he wants to go, but Erik ten Hag has stated multiple times that the player is part of the plans for his new Man United team, so there has been a lot of conjecture.
Recently, there were rumors that Chelsea owner Ted Boehly had met with Ronaldo’s agency to negotiate a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge, but the Man United board quickly denied such claims.
However, those reports continue to circulate in the media, and some believe that the proper Chelsea offer may persuade Ronaldo to move to London, especially given his desire to play in the Champions League and compete for all the major prizes.
Pat Nevin toldBonusCodeBets: But amid all the speculation – Pat Nevin has opened up and told Chelsea that Ronaldo would be a worse signing that Romelu Lukaku was last season: “I think Ronaldo would be even more of a poor fit than Lukaku was for Chelsea.”
“When Lukaku signed last season, people thought he would be the missing link but I thought by signing him, Thomas Tuchel was throwing his style of play out the window, if indeed it was Thomas who signed him! It didn’t make sense to me.
“While Ronaldo scores a lot of goals, off the ball you are almost playing with ten men which you cannot do in the Premier League and be competitive.
“Some Chelsea fans may love it, but there have been some cases over the years around Chelsea which have made them look like a circus.
“If they are trying to catch Man City, they can’t be a circus. If he is going to join, he has to be told he won’t play every game and may only play 45 minutes but he has to work for the team.
“If he does, he could then be a brilliant signing for Chelsea.”
