Tuchel promise Chelsea fans after new deal, as Blues chase brilliant Barcelona talent as contract runs down
Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract at Chelsea that will keep him until 2024 at the very least, and in a statement released alongside the news, the former Dortmund boss promised more glory to come.
Chelsea’s official site had the quote from Tuchel, who declared:
“There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.”
We’ve been so delighted by what we’ve seen from the new coach so far, and given he’s not had a single transfer window – and barely a week of training – to shape the team, we can’t wait to see what level this team can get to.
He doesn’t seem like the type to slow down now he’s won the biggest trophy of all. Next on his list of priorities will surely be the Premier League, and given how easily he bested Pep Guardiola this season, we wouldn’t be surprised to see us make a serious tilt for the title next season.
Blues chase brilliant Barcelona talent as contract runs down
According to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo refer to Spanish radio station RAC1 (English link from CaughtOffside) in bringing into question the future of one of Barcelona’s brightest young talents, Ilaix Moriba.
The youngster was one of the bright spots of Ronald Koeman’s second season in charge at the Nou Camp, and losing him would be a catastrophe for the Blaugrana.
Chelsea are among the teams linked with the talent, whose contract expires a year from now. He’s a mouth watering prospect, and we would love to see him doing damage in the Premier League with his silky touch and turn.
Ultimately we would be surprised if he doesn’t renew at the club where he’s come up through the ranks – but it’s good to know our club are still sniffing around the hottest talents at all times.
If anything breaks down between Moriba and his club, you can be sure we will be there ready
