Tuchel told he can sign winger for £78 million, Harry Kane sends special message to Chelsea star, as Blues looking to sign superstar for just £52 million
Dortmund have lowered their asking price for Chelsea target Jadon Sancho to around £78 million ($108m).
It is no secret that Sancho was the number one transfer target for the top clubs during the summer transfer window, but no deal could get done for the winger as his asking price was far too high.
Sancho endured a slow start to the 2020-21 campaign after being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League giants, but has started to get back to his best since the turn of the year
But with the transfer window just a few months away, there is already speculation in the media that he will be allowed to leave Dortmund at the end of the season, should the likes of Chelsea, or Manchester United, make a significant offer for his services.
However, the club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, revealed recently that a “gentleman’s agreement” was in place to allow the winger to move if certain conditions were met.
“We already had a gentleman’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,” Zorc told ARD. “He’s been with us for a few years. But there is no such agreement with Erling.”
And now Goal has learned that those conditions would allow Sancho to move for around £78m ($108m) – a sizeable drop from the £108m ($150m) that Dortmund were initially asking for.
Roundup…
Sancho is a player that will go on to do great things, and will go on to demand a big asking price. Chelsea would be a fantastic place for him to develop, especially under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel.
So even though there are a few months to go, and even though Chelsea are still seeking to win some trophies, Sancho is a statement signing that would send a message to the rest of the Premier League.
Kane sends special message to Chelsea star
Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane has paid a tribute to Chelsea star Mason Mount.
Mount scored Chelsea’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night as Thomas Tuchel’s side knocked the Spanish giants out and progressed to the final.
“Mason [Mount] is a fantastic player, great on the ball, great worth ethic,” Kane told beIN SPORTS.
“He wins balls back, makes tackles, it’s an underrated part of his game.
“He’s a truly special player and it’s great for him to playing in a Champions League final in a few weeks’ time. He was great again against Real Madrid.”
Blues looking to sign superstar for just £52 million
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI could be ‘tempted’ into a move to Chelsea, according to reports.
The Bayern Munich star is closing in on a number of records in Germany, and has previously hinted that he’ll finish his career in Bavaria.
But, with his contract set to have just two years remaining, the Pole is reportedly considering his options.
According to ESPN, the striker is ‘undecided’ on his future – with City and Chelsea emerging as serious ‘contenders’ to sign him.
The 32-year-old could be available for just £52million, should he decide to leave Allianz Arena.
However, Chelsea are looking to bring in a focal point upfront, with Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku having already been linked.
