Tuchel told player will be great at Chelsea like Drogba”, as Romano issues update on Chelsea star with ‘crazy bids’ set to arrive
Former Chelsea left-back Wayne Bridge has compared Timo Werner to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
According to Bridge, it took Drogba awhile to get going at Chelsea but he got there at the end. Bridge expects same from Werner.
“I think luck is definitely a factor in Werner’s season,” Bridge told BettingExpert.com.
“His attitude is brilliant, the way he’s worked for the team means he has played well. I look back at Drogba’s start at Chelsea and he didn’t hit the ground running and he got there in the end, so I think Werner will get there.
“He gives defenders nightmares, he’s still a very good player and when something clicks his confidence and attacking instinct will come back and he’ll be finding the back of the net.
“That will come and he has been a little bit unlucky with his attitude it will click in the end.”
Drogba scored just 10 league goals in his debut season at Chelsea but would go onto become a club legend, scoring 157 goals in 341 appearances.
Romano issues update on Mason Mount with ‘crazy bids’ set to arrive
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, reliable journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea will reject any and all bids that will arrive for ‘untouchable’ Mason Mount.
Mount, a product of the Chelsea youth academy, got his big break in the first-team last season under Frank Lampard. And he just has not looked back ever since, making giant stride after giant stride to establish himself as one of the most exciting young attacking midfielders in England.
A mainstay for club and country, Mount has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season and picked up the club’s Player of the Year award earlier this week.
Romano has now revealed that Mount’s progress over the past couple of seasons could lead to ‘crazy bids’ coming in for him in the summer. However, the journalist added that Chelsea are very happy with the Englishman’s progression, who has attained an ‘untouchable’ status at the club.
“He’s really special and when Chelsea people talk about him, he’s really, really untouchable. So, all sorts of crazy bids will arrive this summer – Mason Mount is untouchable.
Romano also provided an update on a possible contract extension for the England international, hinting that a new deal could be in the offing soon.
“He’s an amazing player, they consider him the star of the future and of the present because he’s making a difference right now. So, Mason Mount is part of Chelsea’s project and let’s see in the next months what happens with his contract. At the moment, there is still nothing agreed or advanced but, for sure, Chelsea are so, so happy with Mason Mount.”
