(Video): Outgoing Chelsea player stopped and searched by armed police In Italy
Most people are still baffled as to why armed police in Italy stopped and questioned AC Milan’s star player Bakayoko, who is now on loan from Chelsea FC.
However, It was demonstrated in a video that was shared on social media today, Monday, July 18, 2022, that the police searched the player meticulously before another officer confirmed that he was a football player.
The video caused a stir on social media when the Italian police announced that the incident was a case of mistaken identity.
According to Goal.com, the Milan police department’s press office released the following statement via ANSA:
“THESE COMMENTS ARE OUT OF PLACE.”THE CHECK WAS TRIGGERED BECAUSE BAKAYOKO AND THE OTHER PASSENGER CORRESPONDED PERFECTLY, BY CHANCE, TO THE DESCRIPTIONS [OF PEOPLE WANTED BY THE POLICE] , AND OF COURSE IT ENDED WHEN IT WAS REALISED THAT HE [THE POLICE OFFICER] HAD STOPPED A PERSON WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.”
