“We regretted it after that” – Luton boss reveals what he regrets after playing with Chelsea

The Blues recorded an important 3-2 win against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

It was a hard-fought win for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who had to rely on Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke for the goals.

Palmer hit the net twice, while Madueke scored once. The ex-PSV star found the net with his weaker right foot in the first half after he was set up by ‘Man of the Match’, Palmer.

After the game, Luton head coach, Rob Edwards was disappointed that his side couldn’t get anything, especially with the late fightback they attempted. He was however full of praise for Madueke’s goal, which he thought was ‘brilliant’. But he lamented the opening goal scored by Cole Palmer.

He said: “We gifted them the first goal, which is then a challenge. Second goal I thought was brilliant skill, Noni Madueke. It’s a brilliant goal, which we knew.

“We respected their quality. We knew they had that, individuals, that front four is electric and can be when they’re… even in moments, even if they’re not at it consistently throughout the game.”

Madueke’s goal against Luton is his second in as many matches after he came off the bench to grab Chelsea’s winner against Crystal Palace last Wednesday.
