Chelsea are in front of the Sky Sports cameras tonight in their Monday Night Football show taking on top four rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.
Both sides see this game as a must win for their Champions League chances, which we know holds a massive importance financially, as well as giving a club the ability to attract the best players in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are in 4th spot, currently 6 points clear of Manchester United, who have a lot of work to do if they want any chance of making the top four. It is Tottenham and Sheffield United who are concerning Chelsea though, with Spurs gaining another three points yesterday and closing the gap to just one point.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante knows the importance of keeping a distance on the chasing pack as the season heads well into the latter half.
As reported by Herald, Kante said:
“Man United were a bit behind but now they have closed the gap so it’s a big opportunity either for us to keep them behind or for them to close the gap more; it’s an important game for both teams.
“We all know that Man United at home is a very difficult game, especially after what happened in the first game but we don’t look at this. We just look forward because we want to keep the gap and so that’s why we need to win, not to get revenge. “It’s important for us and the fans so we need them to keep supporting us as they always do and we will try to give our best to make them proud.”
