Werner and Kovacic to start, Strongest Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-3-3) vs Wolves
Chelsea will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the road today.
Chelsea recently saw their nine-match unbeaten league streak end with a 1-0 loss at Everton and that has dropped them to fifth on the table.
Still, they are only within three points of the league leaders and could go second in the standings, should the other results go their way.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Lineup: Edouard Mendy made a blunder which contributed to the Toffees finding the back of the net. He will be keen to redeem himself at the Molineux this evening.
No changes are likely in the backline. Reece James, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell should form the four-man defence once again.
N’Golo Kante has been ever-present in the holding midfield role in the league and that should remain the case.
Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic are similarly set to continue in the central midfield positions ahead of the Frenchman.
Christian Pulisic has returned to the squad after a minor hamstring issue, but Frank Lampard may start him on the bench.
Hence, it should be the same combination from the weekend. Timo Werner and Kai Havertz should occupy the wide attacking positions.
Olivier Giroud failed to score last time around, but he is unlikely to be dropped after netting five times in his previous two starts.
Predicted Chelsea lineup: Edouard Mendy; Reece James, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell; N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount; Kai Havertz, Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner
