Chelsea are through to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup after defeating Bournemouth 1-0 in the quarterfinal clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
An 84th minute goal from Eden Hazard was what Chelsea needed to go past a difficult Bournemouth as Hazard had to come from the bench to score for Chelsea.
The Blues have now been drawn to play Tottenham in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup while Manchester City will face League One side Burton Albion.
When asked about Tottenham’s draw against Chelsea, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he’s expecting a tough derby game against the Blues.
He told Sky Sports: “A very difficult draw, another London derby. We have already played Watford, West Ham and Arsenal.
“We shall see, Chelsea are a great team but we are excited. To be in the semi-final is fantastic for us.
“I am very pleased tonight. The most important thing was to play well and win the game. We deserved it. We kept a clean sheet here after a very busy period.”
Tottenham were the first team to beat Chelsea this season, and it was Spurs who put an end to Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the season after a 3-1 win for Pochettino’s men at the Wembley Stadium last month.
