Frank Lampard dropped Kepa Arrizabalaga for Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Leicester City, with the boss preferring to start Willy Caballero instead.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and the Chelsea board are unhappy with Lampard’s decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga as they believe the Spaniard’s value will drop drastically if he continues to sit on the bench.
According to various reports, Lampard is set to stick with Caballero for the visit of Manchester United to Stamford Bridge on February 17th.
Granovskaia spent a world record fee of £71 million to sign Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018 and she would be reluctant to sell the 25 year old goalkeeper for less than fee paid for the Spaniard.
Lampard’s request for a new goalkeeper in the summer is set to cause friction between the boss and Granovskaia.
