‘World-class’ winger could have suitors this summer, Thomas Tuchel considered signing him for Chelsea – Romano confirm

Chelsea could have the chance to sign one of their former targets this summer.

Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry was one player who Chelsea considered bringing in back in 2022 as Thomas Tuchel looked to add another wide man to his squad, according to The Telegraph.

While there is no guarantee that Gnabry will be sold at the end of the season, Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Substack that his future may depend on who Bayern’s next manager is.

The transfer expert also claimed that if the German club do decide to sell the 28-year-old, “we’ll see suitors” emerge for his signature.

The winger who Chelsea are being heavily linked with at the moment is Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. It has been reported that the Blues are really thinking about making a move for him when the window reopens.

Could Chelsea sign Serge Gnabry’s Bayern Munich team-mate Jamal Musiala?
There could also be a chance for Chelsea to land Jamal Musiala in the next transfer window. That is because the attacking midfielder has turned down a contract offer from Bayern, according to the Daily Star.

Musiala, who was once on Chelsea’s books, was linked with a return to west London earlier in the season.

The 21-year-old continues to impress at Bayern, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances this term.

Either one of Musiala or Gnabry could be a good addition to Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad. The latter, described as a “world-class wide man” by Rio Ferdinand, has also proven that he can find the back of the net, registering 14 league goals in the previous campaign.

Without Champions League football, though, Chelsea could find it difficult to land players of this calibre, while it also seems like Williams is the attacking signing the club are hoping to make this summer. The Spain international is probably a more likely addition than the likes of Gnabry and Musiala.
