Wow! Man City’s Leroy Sane makes massive claim about Chelsea and Sarri

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane believes Chelsea will pose the biggest threat to his side’s hopes of defending their Premier League title this season.

The Blues finished 30 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s side last term, also missing out on Champions League qualification after a disappointing fifth-place finish.

Maurizio Sarri has since arrived at Stamford Bridge to succeed Antonio Conte with midfielder Jorginho joining him from Napoli.

Guardiola is a firm admirer of the Italian coach and his approach to the game and having seen his side tested by Napoli in last season’s Champions League, Sane is aware of the threat Chelsea now carry.

“Chelsea have brought in a really good coach,” Sane told reporters.

“The way Napoli played last season was really attractive. We really suffered against them.

“They might need some time to get used to his tactics but they could be a really tough team.”

When asked which side poses the biggest threat to City retaining their crown, the Germany international added: “I think Chelsea.”

Sarri’s first competitive game in charge of Chelsea will be against City in their curtain-raising Community Shield clash at Wembley on Sunday 5 August.
