‘YESSSSS’ ‘A good signing coming in’ – Chelsea fans reacts as Romano confirms “Chelsea wants to sign £43M Striker

Journalist Fabrizio Romano believes that Chelsea is the team most likely to make an offer for RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko this summer.

The Slovenian international is being watched by Arsenal and Manchester United as well, but Romano stated in his Daily Briefing column that the Blues have long admired the player:

“I’ve also always mentioned one club specifically, and that’s Chelsea. Chelsea remain keen on Sesko but they still have to decide how much they want to invest on a striker.”

“In any case, Leipzig expect that something could happen this summer with Sesko, so let’s see what’s going to happen. Chelsea have been tracking Sesko for more than two years, but also names like Victor Osimhen are there.”

Most fans on X would back a move for Sesko, although some have questioned his age and lack of experience:

Sesko has a release clause in his contract
Reports in the German media have suggested that the 20-year-old can be signed for around €50m (£43m) in the next transfer window due to a buyout fee.

That figure may tempt Chelsea, who need to keep their finances in line with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. Alternatives such as Victor Osimhen, in particular, could cost more than double that amount.

Will Sesko solve Chelsea’s goalscoring problems?
The Slovenian has hit the back of the net 15 times in 39 appearances for Leipzig so far this season. If you compare those numbers to the Blues’ current no.9 Nicolas Jackson, there isn’t a great deal of difference between the pair.

In the exact same number of games, the Senegalese international has scored 13, only two fewer than Sesko.

@Messi_Lives_On: Sign him please ????????????

@styleschelss: We need more experience and we’re getting sesko?

@Ashikra09565224: Good choice

@Pitoli17: Nah he is mid another Jackson 2.0

What happened with Osimhen?

@MG09123:Good option.

@ahmadridhosp: I’d rather have Watkins as a short term solution rather than signing a young striker who played in far easier league than La Liga

@HwangCFCNYK: YESSSSS

@Omotunde121: A huge risk. What if he succumbs to pressure. Leipzig is not chelsea fc until you can prove otherwise. We can’t experiment again. Imo get experience striker along with him. Ivan tony + sesko= 90mil pounds.

@TweetWithWolves: Sesko would be a good signing if we can’t afford an Osimhen, Vlahovic or Gyorkeres..
