“Zero passion for the club” “Ver lazy player” Looks lost” – Mikel Obi fires Chelsea star after poor performance in 2-1 defeat against Brighton
During Chelsea’s FA Cup loss to Brighton, Mikel Obi, a legend, was heard becoming “annoyed” with Christopher Nkunku.
On Saturday night, the Blues lost 2-1 to a Brighton squad that had sold them a number of their players, eliminating them from the FA Cup.
When Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen misjudged Cole Palmer’s volleyed cross into his own net, Chelsea took the lead early.
However, Georginio Rutter’s header from Joel Veltman’s cross put the home team back on level seven minutes later.
Rutter played a crucial role in Brighton’s second-half winner as Kaoru Mitoma was sent through on goal and dinked a fine finish over ex-Brighton star Robert Sanchez.
Enzo Maresca fielded a strong team but was left disappointed as Chelsea’s poor run of form since mid-December continued and resulted in a FA Cup exit.
£52m signing Christopher Nkunku started in the absence of injured striker Nicolas Jackson but struggled to make an impact, even attracting groans of frustration from the travelling fans.
“Am so disappointed to say this but Christopher Nkunku is too lazy for my likely, had the chance to score goal..can’t drive ball in and struggle to score goals,
“I remember He was driving forward, with Tyrique George completely open on the left-hand side. He just completely stopped and turned back the other way. It is so disappointing.
‘If I am George, I am screaming at him to give me the ball. He has not had a touch after coming on.
“Enzo Maresca just need to focus on how to get a good striker in summer with these set of strikers in our squad no one can take us to top4 or win the league”
“We need a committed players in these squad who are ready to play for the badge..Nkunku looks lost in this Chelsea team” Mikel added.
