Zidane opens up on £134m man could make Chelsea move, Man United prepare £80m for Chelsea transfer target, as Tuchel provides Christensen injury update
Zinedine Zidane has reacted to talk of Eden Hazard being allowed to leave Real Madrid with a return to Chelsea mooted.
Hazard was a superstar for us during his stay with the club and many fans were sad to see him leave the club a few years ago when he sealed his dream move to Madrid in a deal worth £134 million.
However, injuries and poor performances has meant that he has not had the best of time at Madrid and there is a feeling that he will be allowed to leave the club in the summer, especially after his actions in the Champions League semi-finals against Chelsea.
Hazard was caught on camera joking with Chelsea stars at the end of a continental clash that saw the club edge out Real 2-0 on the night to reach the Champions League final.
Asked about the transfer talk surrounding Hazard, Zidane has told reporters: “All the players have their hearts in the club but for now it hasn’t been possible to see the Eden Hazard we want to see.
“But I believe he is going to get there. It’s a difficult moment with everything that’s happened but he has a contract and what he wants is to succeed here.”
There was no doubt that Hazard was one of the very best players in the Premier League when he was here and many people cannot figure out why he has been such a flop at the Bernabeu.
But at the end of the day, it would be a shock to see him make a move back to the club.
Man United prepare £80m for Chelsea transfer target
According to Daily Star, Manchester United are determined to make Jadon Sancho the club’s major signing this summer.
The report claims Manchester United are preparing an £80million to sign the Borussia Dortmund winger amid reports Chelsea are now interested in the England international.
The Blues joined the race for the England international after Borussia Dortmund confirmed Sancho can leave the German club this summer.
Despite a slow start to the season, Sancho has scored 14 goals for Borussia Dortmund this season with 12 assists.
Tuchel provides Christensen injury update.
Chelsea defender Andreas had to be replaced in the first half of Chelsea’s win over Manchester City with an apparent hamstring injury.
Christensen suffered the injury in the build-up to Raheem Sterling’s opening goal, with the Danish defender appearing to stretch awkwardly before hitting the pitch in pain.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has given an update on Christensen’s injury against Manchester City.
“I hope, I hope, I hope that it’s not too bad and he can recover in the next few days,” Tuchel told Sky Sports.
“I’m not sure but this [win] would be absolutely bittersweet if it’s a long injury.”
