Abramovich ready to fund deal to sign Bundesliga world-class player this summer

According to reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could be ready to fund the £37million signing of Dayot Upamecano.

According to BILD, Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in pulling off a deal for the RB Leipzig centre-back, and fresh reports claim that, not only does Thomas Tuchel want Upamecano, but Blues owner Abramovich is ready to fund the deal.

Upamecano is available for £37million with a release clause ensuring the only thing RB Leipzig could do to keep their star defender would be to offer him a new deal.

But with so many of Europe’s top clubs interested, the centre-back is likely to be playing elsewhere in the summer.

The question for Chelsea will be whether they can convince Upamecano to agree to join them ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
