Chelsea and Real Madrid target David Alaba is expected to announce the next step in his career on Tuesday
It was only a few weeks ago that news broke that Alaba is not keen on staying at Bayern, that he has rejected the clubs latest contract offer and he is not seeking his next move in the game.
Real Madrid are the favourites to get a transfer deal done, but Chelsea have been named as another destination for the Swiss International, who also has the ability to play in central midfield and in the middle of that back-line.
And according to reports n BILD, the Bayern Munich centre-back David Alaba will announce the next step in his career on Tuesday as some of the biggest clubs in Europe battle for his services.
The report indicates Real Madrid are the favourites to sign him when he becomes a free agent but adds that Chelsea are still very much in the running to try and secure a free deal for the defender at the end of the season.
Alaba is a world class player that has the ability to be a massive player for Chelsea, but that £20 million-a-season contract demand and the fact that Madrid are also in the hunt, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
Chelsea fans would love to see Alaba make that move to Stamford Bridge in the coming months, but we do have a big feeling that he may make that move to Real Madrid, they are more likely to pay him the kind of wages that he wants.
It would be sad to see that happen, but Madrid would be getting a real transfer bargain if they were able to beat off the attentions of Chelsea.
