The pace continues to gather behind Chelsea possibly concluding their second signing of the summer, after Hakim Ziyech of Ajax.

The Blues have been heavily linked to signing Napoli forward Dries Mertens, who as it stands, will be a free agent at the end of June when his contract runs out.

And according to the latest report from AreaNapoli, Chelsea have actually made a contract offer to Mertens that he is currently considering.

They claim that out of respect to his current side and the fact we have no idea if he will still have games to play for them this season or not, Mertens has chosen to ignore any offers so far.

Inter have also made him an offer. Frank Lampard has been in direct contact with the Belgian international in an attempt to get him to come to Chelsea, showing his desire to work with the versatile forward.

However, A decision will surely not be far off.
