Chelsea could lose another player to coronavirus after international incident

The international break is just a few days into its two week span, and Frank Lampard might already be finding himself a man down.

Mateo Kovacic played on Saturday against Sheffield United, marking his first start in a while. He did well, but now may be forced out for a couple of games.

He joined up with the Croatian National team this week, featuring the squad for their game against Turkey last night.

Doma Vida played in the first half of that game, and obviously trained with the team before that – all the while infected with coronavirus.

Even if Kovacic isn’t actually infected, he will likely have to take a two week quarantine anyway, given the close proximity all the players in that squad will have been in.

We’re well covered in his position at least, with Jorginho ready to step in – but given how testing international breaks can be, we could be struggling a little later on if we lose more players.
