Chelsea make move for £40million world-class player despite sacking Lampard

Following Frank Lampard’s sacking on Monday morning, the Blues are reportedly making moves in the transfer market.

According to German publication Kicker via Daily Express, Chelsea have made contact with RB Leipzig over defender Dayot Upamecano.

The 22 year old France international has a release clause of £40million in his RB Leipzig contract which becomes active at the end of the season.

Chelsea aren’t the only club in the defender as Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also interested.

Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly spoken directly to the player and is hoping to convince him to join the European champions
