Chelsea to part ways with one of these players
According to reports, Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso will leave Chelsea this summer as the Blues are keen to part ways with a left full-back.
Tuchels’s team are having the best of time as they are enjoying one of the best form in the Premier League but they are also battling to create space in the team with the likes of Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso going down the pecking order in the Champions League.
They were both linked with a move away from West London in the last summer transfer window but that did not happen until the window was shut.
The arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City remains the major challenge to Emerson Palmieri because he lost his place to the former Foxes player as he has been restricted to few Premier League appearances.
Marcos Alonso has had more playing time than Emerson Palmieri this season, having featured more times in the Premier League but he has been an unused player at the club.
The West London outfit will accept offers for the duo during summer transfer window with manager Tuchel making moves to reduce his squad.
Italian Serie A outfits, Juventus and Inter Milan are listed as clubs that are monitoring the developments surrounding both players as they are in need of a left full-back while Napoli are also not taking the race for their signature likely.
However, Emerson Palmieri’s agent has confirmed that his client could be leaving Chelsea as he also gave the hint that the Italian Serie A is a likely destination when he leaves the West London club.
“I always read that Emerson is close to Juventus, but I can reiterate that there have never been contacts in this transfer window with the Bianconero club. Right now it’s hard to talk about his farewell, the boy only thinks of Chelsea.” His agent claimed earlier.
Emerson Palmieri has two years remaining on his contract following his €20 million move from AS Roma in 2018 but he does not mind remaining at the club to prove himself if the right offer fails to show up.
The only reason why Emerson Palmieri could force a move out of Chelsea is the fear of a rusty relationship with the manager but at the moment, one can be assured of a good relationship between them both.
