Deal On: Chelsea in advanced talks with Bayern Munich key player

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with German champions, Bayern Munich to discuss a potential move for David Alaba when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.

The West London club are expected to be in the market for a new left-back this summer, with both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri and potentially departing from Stamford Bridge after the end of the 2019-20 season.

Leicester City’s full-back, Ben Chilwell has been heavily linked with Frank Lampard’s side, however, the England international could ultimately be priced out of a move to Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, The Foxes full-back is Chelsea’s leading target, however, the London giants are exploring alternatives and have identified David Alaba as a cheaper option.

The report suggests that the West London club have been in contact with German champions to determine whether they would be prepared to sell him this summer.

Inter Milan and EL Classico giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, who will see his current contract at the Allianz Arena when the transfer window will be re-opened.

The Austria international has played 380 games for Bayern in all competitions, including 36 appearances during the 2019-20 season, where he has largely operated as a central defender.
