Former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle set to join Chelsea’s London rivals

Former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle could be back to the Premier League for the third time in his career.

According to reports, the German international looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis this summer, with The Sun reporting he could return to west London to join Fulham or Brentford.

Schurrle could yet make a third return to West London, with both Fulham and Brentford, who are vying for a place in next season’s top flight, keen on his services.

Schurrle left Stamford Bridge to join Wolfsburg back in January 2015. One year later, he moved on to Borussia Dortmund. However, the 29-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Fulham and Spartak Moscow.

Schurrle does not appear to be in the German club’s plans for next season.

According to The Sun, the former Chelsea winger has failed to live up to expectations with Bundesliga side Dortmund, and the Bundesliga side want as little as £2million for him – £25m less than the £27m they paid Wolfsburg for his services.
