“If Chelsea can abide to this rules they will be fine” – Rio Ferdinand reveals why Chelsea can’t sack Pochettino

At the end of the season, the Chelsea management will evaluate Mauricio Pochettino’s performance.

Chelsea has seen highs and lows this season, but under Mauricio Pochettino, the team’s 5-0 loss to Arsenal was as bad as it got.

Mauricio Pochettino is being called for to be fired by Chelsea supporters, but Rio Ferdinand does not think it will happen.

The majority of the £1 billion that the BlueCo have invested in transfer signings have gone toward young, talented players.

Rio Ferdinand has stated that Pochettino shouldn’t be fired for the team he was given; instead, the board should take the fall for the decision.

Ferdinand believes Chelsea signing experiences players will help Chelsea to be at form back.

“What I would say is that if you have spent a billion pounds on potential then you can’t sack the manager,” Ferdinand told TNT Sports.

“I’m really interested to see how this summer goes in terms of the management situation.

“Mauricio Pochettino, when he gets an appraisal done at the end of the season, that will be one of the first things he says – ‘What do you expect? I have got one of the youngest squads around. I have invested in lots of potential. No real end product all over park’ – We were saying before, where is the experience?

“When there is a rocky moment in the game, where are the people and the characters that are going to drag the young players along?

“The main one, on the bench, was Thiago Silva but he is 38-years-old. They need to buy experience.”
